Femininity in Forensics

When I started clinical skills, I thought I would be learning physical exams.

What surprised me most was not where to place my stethoscope or how to memorize the checklist; it was everything else.

The awkward moments, the communication, the trust patients place in us, and the realization that medicine is just as much about compassion as it is about science.

This week’s blog is one that is especially close to my heart. I hope it reminds every medical student that it is okay to still be learning. 💗

There have been seasons where I stopped doing many of the things that once made me feel like myself.

Not because I didn’t care.

Because I was exhausted.

I’ve learned that getting ready isn’t always about appearance.

Sometimes it’s an act of self-respect.

A reminder that you deserve care even on the days you don’t feel your best.
