Everyone always guesses plastics or peds.

And then I tell them I want to be a forensic pathologist.

This week on Forensic Fashionista, we are talking about pink, pathology, being underestimated, why I fell in love with forensic medicine, and why becoming a doctor should not require becoming less of yourself along the way.

first day of T5!!

somehow we’re already here.

new term, new lectures, same girl convincing herself that this will be the term she stays completely caught up.

after taking a little time to rest and reset after T4, it feels really good to be starting again. a little nervous, a lot excited, and very grateful to be one step closer.

The awkward moments, the communication, the trust patients place in us, and the realization that medicine is just as much about compassion as it is about science.

There have been seasons where I stopped doing many of the things that once made me feel like myself.

Not because I didn’t care.

Because I was exhausted.

I’ve learned that getting ready isn’t always about appearance.

Sometimes it’s an act of self-respect.

A reminder that you deserve care even on the days you don’t feel your best.
